“Well,” you may say, “you could have said no to the surgery.” Yes, but that thinking relies on hindsight. Unless there are principles of God that we have violated and, therefore, lessons that we can learn and apply to the future, there’s very little value in hindsight. Let me repeat that—unless you can look back on a situation and say, “I violated a principle of God in that case and the result was a negative outcome,” there’s little value in hindsight. There’s nothing really to be learned or gained.
